In the hope that nothing will prevent us, we are now officially announcing this year’s conference.

By unanimous decision of the board, we will organize a session on Materials Science in memory of our friend and distinguished colleague ÁRPÁD BARNA, who passed away last year.
András Kovács (Jülich) will be the invited speaker of the session and further lectures will be delivered by Péter Barna, György Radnóczi, Zoltán György Radnóczi and Miklós Menyhárd.
In addition to the 15-20 minute lectures of our more experienced colleagues, we welcome applications from Ph.D. and Ph.D. students for the always successful 5+5 minute lectures, and we will again announce the Best Young Lecturer Award for them.
The winner will be decided by the audience.
In addition to the certificate, the winner will receive a €250 grant for a conference or summer school.
Since the 16thMCM conference will be held between 4-9 Sep 2022, in Brno, and this year’s winner will have the chance to win another speaker or poster prize if he or she, along with many other young and senior researchers, submits an application for this event.
Young researchers can also apply for the EMS Fellowship, where the application deadline is the same as the deadline for the 16thMCM conference: 1 April 2022.
Please note the early application deadline! For Ph.D. students, the registration fee for the conference without dinner is only €90 until 21 April 2022, and you can still book accommodation in a good hostel for around €60 per person/night.
We also announce the Hungarian Electron Microscopy Foundation Awards for articles published online or in print between 1 Jan 2021 – 31 Dec 2021 in the field of Materials and Life Sciences.
Conference participation fees:
We will continue our efforts to set participation fees in order to attract participants from laboratories with fewer funds. The current higher prices only reflect the increase in the general price level.
The participation fees per person are :
for single occupancy: 79 000 Ft
for double occupancy 67 000 Ft
Ph.D. student/double occupancy 50 000 Ft
one-day participation fee w/o accommodation 19 000 Ft
Registration for the conference
For the first time this year, we have two registration forms to make it easier for those who are not presenting a paper.
Please fill in the registration forms with or without the lecture, as asked by László Barna, accurately, so that Katalin Balázsi can send the invoice for the amount of the reservation to the correct address before payment, which is acceptable to the tax authorities!
Companies paying a subsidy fee
Your logo will be displayed on the website, in the program, and in the online conference publication.
For those who pay a sponsorship fee of 150 000 Ft, we will ensure that a 1-2 minute video of the company will be screened during the break in the presentations,
Those who pay a grant of 200 000Ft will also have the opportunity to make a 20-minute presentation.
